Many women in Anosy use 'mahampy' reed to weave traditional products in order to provide a small but vital income.

Poor harvesting techniques, droughts, fires and climate change contribute to the threat of the health and resilience of the beds. Project Mahampy will establish ways to sustainably manage mahampy resources and develop a community-based conservation management plan.
