Children growing up in poverty are nearly twice as likely to die before reaching their fifth birthday. Those who survive are often malnourished, suffer from continuous ill-health and typically drop out of school. In Madagascar, 100 children die every day from common and preventable diseases. By tackling root causes at a community level Project Votsira works with families with low literacy levels and limited access to formal services. With this in mind we hope to reach some of the most vulnerable mothers to improve their understanding of issues around child health.
