Anybody aged 18 or over may join the SEED Madagascar Conservation Programme. While it isn't a requirement to have an interest in biology or conservation, experience in fieldwork is welcomed. Volunteers will also find it helpful to be in good physical shape as there are some long walks.
The volunteer scheme is designed as a 10-week programme starting at the beginning of January, April, July and October each year, but is split into two-week modules; allowing even those of you with tight schedules to savour Madagascar and make a valuable contribution to our long-term conservation work. Volunteers can join the programme for 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 weeks (1 - 5 modules).
Each two-week module encompasses many different aspects of the SEED Madagascar Conservation Programme work, allowing individuals to gain an in-depth understanding of our integrated approach to conservation. To participate in the full range of conservation projects, volunteers usually stay for longer periods of time, from one month to the full ten weeks.

* SEED Madagascar seek to maximise donations to the charity by claiming Gift Aid from UK tax payers which can increase the value of funds you raise for us by 25%. Gift Aid can be claimed at the point of online donation by our partners Charity Check Out or Virgin Money Giving or by filling in our simple form. Full details on eligibility for Gift Aid can be found here https://www.gov.uk/claim-gift-aid/what-you-can-claim-it-on.
Under these criteria the deposit of £200 does not qualify and nor do any payments for additional expenses such as tent hire or internal flights.SEED can claim Gift Aid on all the donation you raise. While Gift Aid is an important part of our charity income, we do not count it toward your Total Contribution - but we very much appreciate the valuable added extra boost it gives to funding our charitable work. You are welcome to contact the Inland Revenue or SEED Madagascar should you have any further questions regarding Gift Aid.
