Brad and Kiara's conservation experience with SEED Madagascar
My partner and I spent 6 weeks volunteering with SEED's Conservation Research Programme, based in Saint Luce, hoping to see the famous Madagascan wildlife and improve our field skills. SEED's programme exceeded our expectations - not only did we get a close and personal experience with the wildlife, we felt that the team were invested in our interests and development, enabling us to get as much out of the experience as possible. The close relationship that SEED holds with the local community provides a unique experience to learn about the culture and way of life of the Malagasy people. In working alongside the community, it became evident that SEED's work is undoubtedly a vital part in conserving flora and fauna around Saint Luce.
Whilst the basic-living is one to get accustomed to, the camp has everything that you require and makes you appreciate the small luxuries of day to day life. During down time, the team ensure that you are well entertained, with games and movie nights as well as weekend trips to the beach, bird-watching and nearby hotel pool. To anyone considering signing up to SEED's volunteer programme we can only highly recommend you take part in any way you're able to!
