Important Information for Our Supporters
Thursday, 6th August 2026
At SEED Madagascar, we believe it is important to be open and transparent whenever an issue may affect information entrusted to us.
One of our trusted suppliers, Beacon CRM, the secure system we use to manage our supporter records, has informed us that it recently experienced a cyber security incident involving unauthorised access to its systems. Beacon has advised us that the incident is likely to have affected the data we store within its CRM while investigations continue.
Although Beacon's investigation is ongoing, we wanted to make you aware of the situation at the earliest opportunity so that you have the information you need. You can also view Beacon's latest updates on the incident here: https://www.beaconcrm.org/incident-faqs
The information we hold within Beacon may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and records of your interactions with SEED Madagascar.
Importantly, we do not process or store payment card or bank account details through Beacon. Donations to SEED Madagascar are made through secure third-party providers, by bank transfer or by cheque, so we have no evidence that any financial payment information has been affected.
At present, there is no evidence that any supporter information has been used fraudulently. However, as a sensible precaution, we recommend remaining alert to any unexpected emails, text messages or telephone calls claiming to be from SEED Madagascar or asking for personal information. We will never ask you to provide passwords, payment details or other sensitive information by email, text message or telephone.
If you receive any communication that you believe may be connected to this incident, or anything claiming to be from SEED Madagascar that does not seem genuine, we would be grateful if you could let us know. This will help us monitor the situation and, where appropriate, share relevant information with Beacon as their investigation continues.
We recognise that our supporters place their trust in us when sharing their personal information, and we take that responsibility seriously. SEED Madagascar has submitted a report to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), reviewed all relevant security measures, and will continue to monitor the situation closely. We are also working closely with Beacon throughout its ongoing investigation.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@seedmadagascar.org
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
